Even simpeler leven bij Rory

Ontdek Heydon Grove Farm in Norfolk. De eerste BoerenBed boerderij in Noord Norfolk! Rory runt dit akkerbouwbedrijf dat ook onderdak biedt aan kippen en koeien van naburige boerderijen. De boerderij is al vier generaties in de familie en produceren gewassen zoals brouwgerst, suikerbiet en hooi.

Stad en kust

Fiets over de kleine landweggetjes van Heydon. Bezoek de prachtige kerk van St. Peter & St. Paul's Church en Heydon Hall, een Elizabethaans huis met een rijke geschiedenis. Trakteer jezelf met een lokaal biertje in de pub in het dorp Heydon! De middeleeuwse stad Norwich met zijn kathedraal en 73 kerken is ook dichtbij gelegen. Tijdens een mooie zomerdag kan je een bezoekje brengen aan het strand in Cromer.

Dit doe je op de boerderij

Stap 's ochtends uit je comfy bed bed, loop in je pyjama naar het kippenhok en raap een vers eitje voor het ontbijt. Stook het houtvuur aan en maak een heerlijk boerenomelet op de houtkachel. De kinderen verkennen de speeltuin inclusief schommels, een glijbaan, klimrek of de overdekte knutselruimte voor de regenachtige dagen. Ook leuk: maak een tractorrit door de buurt. Over het avondeten hoef je ook niet na te denken, bestel een heerlijke barbecue box in het boerderijwinkeltje!

Our hosts were absolutely fantastic, they couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. The farm was so peaceful, perfectly laid out, well equipped and the location was perfect. Our children had the BEST time. If I had to find any constructive criticism, it would be to provide a mop in the shower area to clean up after each use- it quickly became a wet/muddy/grassy mess.

Really good, although going in the winter it would have been good to have had a gas stove/burner to be able to quickly make a hot drink. Also milk in the honesty shop fridge!

Soooo relaxing. Lovely spot, a couple of nice pubs within walking distance, great hosts, great set up, lovely area to explore. Our car broke down 10 minutes from arrival and Rory and Hazel were so kind with mechanic recommendations and rescue lifts, even offers to fetch supplies. It was actually nice to be without wheels - enforced relaxation!

Rory and Hazel were the nicest hosts we have have ever stayed with we think we have stayed at 14 farms over the years and while all have been lovely they just were fab!ous! Tents would benefit from another pillow each if possible and the tents were a little closer than other farms we have stayed at - spacing them out further would really benefit the experience but I realise that may not be possible. All the same amazing stay in a beautiful sheltered spot.

The safari tents with cupboard beds and built in bunks were magic, and the candles above the table made it feel all twinkly and magical too. We even saw shooting stars and a barn owl one night.

Heydon Farm was a great location to base ourselves for our Norfolk holiday. With only 4 tents it was a nice quiet site overlooking a field of cows as our neighbours. I loved the fact we had our own allocated shower so could leave our wash things up there. The honest shop was perfect for a last minute purchase of marshmallows & hot chocolate, as well as having power to charge my phone. There was plenty to do in the local area within a 30 min drive so a perfect staycation. A new espresso bar has just opened in the village so is perfect for those who need coffee but don't want to wait for the stove to wam up as well having some lovely pastries & cakes.

Great way to switch off from all the pressures of our busy lives back home! So relaxing, location is great, being in nature, kids had the best time too! Having an honesty shop pn site is a brilliant feature. The tent is a good size, great that it is dark at night with the blackout windows as kids slept in compared to staying in a traditional tent! The park and kids toys on site are a brilliant addition. Lovely to wake up to the cows each morning!

We had a fabulous holiday. Farmer Rory and Hazel could not have been more welcoming and kind,- they even came to give tractor rides. Heydon is in a great location to see all of North Nofolk, half an hour from the coast and the Broads. The highlight of the holiday for my son was the chickens. He loved checking the coop every day for eggs. We will be back.

Fantastic breakaway! The site is perfect for families, with a little play park on site! Site host Rory was helpful and came to welcome us on our arrival, he also go through pizza oven fired up on the Saturday night too… this was our first family glamping trip and it was ideal! Our son loved the adventure so it something we’ll continue doing! Highly recommend Heydon Grove Farm site.

Beautiful and peaceful location, perfect for relaxing and not far from attractions like Wroxham broad - loved going on a day boat, Holt station - for a ride to Sheringham on a steam train.Rory and Richard made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of information about the area.We really enjoyed pizza night.
